Hurting the one you love while committing a crime... (or three).

Noel Bednaz worships Charles Manson. She doesn't like him, have an interest in him, a curiosity about him - none of that. She worships him. Her whole life, such as it is, revolves around her belief that Manson is some sort of misunderstood genius, who is innocent of all charges (even those that landed him in jail before the Tate-LaBianca murders) who was set up by a corrupt government to take the fall because...well, who the hell knows. I don't claim to understand her thought process, as it were. I just know she loves everything about the guy.

So when an Elmhurst, Illinois company called Underworld Productions recently released an LP of Manson music recorded in 1983 called The Lost Vacaville Tapes, she just had to have it. She sent away her money and awaited delivery. Impatiently, as she emailed time and again asking where the LP was.

When it arrived, was she satisfied? Of course not. Every single other person who bought it was satisfied, but not Noel. So, she took advantage of the double-your-money-back guarantee if you were unsatisfied for any reason, right? Of course not. She did what she does.

She uploaded an MP3 of the album to 4Shared.com and announced it on Facebook. She then uploaded it to other places, including making a video and uploading it to a blog (people can strip the audio off and have the whole album) and announced it all over the place. Her defense? It wasn't her, of course.

It was her cousin... who has the same name, uses the same email account, lives at the same address, and has the same writing style. Seriously. That was her defense. That's what she came up with. Really.

So, understandably, the owner of the copyright she infringed, Ben Gurecki of Underworld Productions, is livid, and he's not going to stop until he gets justice. Gurecki has the means (and inclination) to pursue this to the end through the criminal justice system. That, folks, is a good thing. She can play innocent victim all she wants, but the records of her activities on the computer, her uploading of the MP3 (repeatedly), her emails, her blog libeling Ben Gurecki (and me, of course), don't lie, like she always does.
